Shelter
An intimate reflection on vulnerability and protection in a fragile world
12 — 18 Dec
In a time of social and political unrest, Asko|Schönberg and Boris Acket explore the meaning of protection in Shelter, by Michael Gordon, David Lang, and Julia Wolfe (Bang on a Can). This 2005 piece is written for three sopranos and a large ensemble.
During the performance of Shelter, the audience is encouraged to explore how we deal with the human need for ‘shelter’—a safe refuge. An installation by Boris Acket forms the backdrop of the performance.
