In 1974 Theo Loevendie made a musical arrangement of The Nightingale, the marvellous fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen. In 2008, at Loevendie’s own request, his work De Dag- en Nachtegaal was provided with a new text by Kees van Kooten. Since then, this composition for orchestra and narrator has been frequently performed throughout the world.
