GRASnacht: DIY Instruments
Mar 20
This edition of GRASnacht is all about self-built instruments. Join the inventive, creative and disruptive GRASnacht musicians in search of the origins of sound and music. The performances will be musically strung together by DJ Vicky de Visser.
7090
The artist duo 7090 creates art on the borders of music, performance and installation art. A part of this is the building of, and experimenting with, new instruments. For GRASnacht they will let their self-constructed robots play the skeleton of a piano. These sounds are heard through a bouquet of trombone bells.
Error Instruments
The founders of Error Instruments are the rock stars of home-built and experimental instruments. Their self-built synthesizers do not look like the synthesizers you see in concert halls but are modular systems that will surprise you every time. During GRASnacht they will demonstrate the instruments they make.
Akim Moiseenkov
Akim Moiseenkov is a composer who specializes in electronic music and self-built instruments. He previously collaborated with Asko|Schönberg on the Words&Music Festival and educational project De Blaffende Krekel. During GRASnacht he plays an atmospheric solo performance, which is inspired by a diverse array of music: from Debussy to Rammstein.
GRASnacht takes place at GRASpunt, Asko|Schönberg’s workshop; Grasweg 41R in Amsterdam Noord. Would you like to attend GRASnacht? Send an email to info@askoschoenberg.nl.
