Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Wehmut
Programme Vocaallab
Sep 11 2014
The Gaudeamus Prize nominee Anna Korsun’s favourite instrument is the voice, which is superbly showcased in this mainly vocal programme.
In Vocerumori she challenges the singers of Vocaallab to produce a broad spectrum of vocal effects such as hissing, sucking, squeaking, blowing, sighing and panting. In Wehmut the Vocaallab singers team up with musicians from Asko|Schönberg. in Benjamin Scheuer’s Kaleidoscope the vocal sounds are enriched by all kinds of unusual sounds produced by extremely diverse objects, ranging from bottles to old computer keyboards. The work by the Russian Anna Mikhailova is a preliminary study for a future opera.
