This season there is once again ample room for experimentation. Besides music by Tristan Keuris and Klaas de Vries, which has lost none of its expressive impact since the seventies, there are brand new compositions by Maarten Altena and two composers who have found their artistic homeland in the Netherlands, the Argentinian Diego Soifer and the Israeli Roi Nachshon. In his piece for tenor and instruments Maarten Altena explores feelings of shame together with the writer Tijs Goldschmidt. Soifer composes a semi-theatrical opening work in which his aim is to break away from the ritualised aspects of a concert and the traditional role division between performers and public. Nachshon seeks inspiration in lullabies songs and enriches his music with images of his mother, the video and installation artist Shuli Nachshon.
