Theatre, music, dance
38 people doing everyday things. Fitting a lightbulb, cheating on their significant others, admiring a painting, finding grey hairs, reminiscing about their youths, waiting in a hotel room, or arguing at a work do.
But in German writer Roland Schimmelpfennig’s play Vorher/Nachher (Before/After), something small changes in all those lives, causing them to change forever. Schimmelpfennig works are some of the most performed in Germany. His plays are performed less often in the Netherlands, but his work Arabian Night and the Golden Dragon have been staged here. Schimmelpfennig includes contemporary issues and everyday situations in this play that is as poetic as it is accessible.
Following Caroussel, Salam, Brave New World 2.0 and LOVE<3, this is the latest production by NITE.
